Partnering with Children, for peace

WHAT WE DO

Every child has the right to feel safe, both at home and at school.

Sadly, this is not the reality.

75 percent of the world’s children experience violence. With about 246 million boys and girls experiencing violence in and around schools every year, violence poses a threat to the learning, survival and growth of children.

Yet, their rights are often denied and voices unheard.

That is about to CHANGE!

We are relentlessly tackling all forms of violence and threats against children within and around schools, equipping them to be active peace-builders and supporting them to speak up and make real impact in their communities.

We are making children the stars of their own stories. We are centering the most vulnerable at the heart of peacebuilding.

WHAT WE DO

HOW WE DO IT

Education for Peace-Building

Through our Education for Peacebuilding approach, we aim to: Tackle threats-all forms of violence and insecurities- to safe schools, so children can have access to the safe, inclusive and quality education they deserve. Utilize this safe and quality education (formal, informal and/or non-formal) embedded with peacebuilding programming as a channel to equip young people with the knowledge and attitude to transform conflict, skills needed to break the vicious cycle of economic dependence, build healthy relationships and create positive change in their communities.

Service-Learning

Young people, through service, leadership, advocacy, and civic engagement (as well as technology and other innovative approaches) can exert their collective agency and acquire skills to carve out their own spaces for peacebuilding participation. By providing young people with skills, resources and platforms, we create spaces of active and meaningful engagement through which they can rehearse their emerging peacebuilding competencies. Service learning gives them the opportunities to see how their learning applies to real-world settings and the impact they’re able to make.

Advocacy

We recognize the importance of advocating for the rights and well-being of children. Through our advocacy efforts, we raise awareness about the importance of safe education and the need to address issues such as violence, bullying, and poor infrastructure in schools.

We collaborate with policymakers, community leaders, and stakeholders to influence policies and practices that prioritize the safety and security of children.

By amplifying children's voices and engaging in dialogue, we advocate for inclusive and equitable education systems that support the holistic development of every child.
